Is a nasal bump the same as a broken nose?

Answer:
No, they are not the same. A nasal bump is a common reason for a patient visit. You can have a nasal bump because it is a genetic "family" trait, and also you can get one from a broken nose. This is a nasal bump that was "inherited":

A nasal fracture is when your nose is broken - playing basketball, slipping and falling on your nose, or some other reason. After a nasal fracture a patient's nose may be twisted to one side or the other. Also, it may have a new bump. This is called a saddle nose or a boxer's nose deformity. An example is shown here:
