About the Nose
For Those Considering Rhinoplasty Question:
Is there anything special to be considered for children and rhinoplasty?
Answer:
The main thing to consider is their maturity. While a young patient might be physically mature, and physically ready for a rhinoplasty, it is important that they also be emotionally mature.
For this reason, the one difference between younger patients and adults in Dr. Becker's practice is this: Dr. Becker will typically have an especially lengthy conversation with the patient and their parent about risks and complications. It is critical that the patient and family understand this possibility, and the patient and family must be willing to accept this possibility.
Dr. Becker has operated on numerous younger patients, and has found this to be a rewarding experience for both the patient and surgeon.
