Is it true that ethnic rhinoplasty is more commonly performed with an open approach?

Answer:
I perform “ethnic rhinoplasty” through either an open or a closed approach. It truly depends on the specific needs of the patient. About half of my ethnic rhinoplasty patients have a closed approach, and about half have an open approach.

In each case, I discuss the options with the patient, and together we arrive at the best surgical plan.
