I have a small hump on my nose, and I was thinking about having something done. Do I have to have an operation, or is there a non-surgical option?
Below are three photos using computer imaging technology. The first is you now. The second one is you with an augmented radix (upper region). This is what would be done with an injectable – an off-label use. The third (option 2) is a surgical reduction of the nose.
When you weigh the risk-benefit of the two options, and consider that one is obtained by an in-office procedure under local anesthesia and the other requires a full rhinoplasty, you can see why option 1 might be attractive. On the other hand, we would tell any patient that, if this is not acceptable and if they are willing to take the risk of surgery, then certainly it is reasonable to proceed with surgery.
