I have a very bulbous nasal tip that I would like to have refined. How is this done? How do you remove the extra tissue without having a lot of scarring afterward?
I have written a detailed chapter on this entitled “Treatment of the Bulbous Tip” on the online surgical textbook, www.RhinoplastyArchive.com There are also pictures on my website, www.TheRhinoplastyCenter.com that show before and after photos. The short answer is that the bulbous tip is refined by removing a small portion of cartilage, repositioning or reshaping the cartilage, and removing excessive fatty tissue when it is present.
