Question:
I would like a nose job and was wondering if a deviated septum could be fixed at the same time?
Answer:
Yes it can. This is something that I do commonly. Many patients want their nose to look better, and work better! In the office I examine the nose and then perform computer imaging to determine the best surgical goal. I also examine the inside of the nose to see why you are having trouble breathing. A deviated septum is a very common cause of nasal blockage, but there are other causes too. Once I have identified the cause of the nasal blockage, we will talk about the best treatment. If a septoplasty is the answer, then this is routinely performed at the same time as a rhinoplasty. Most other causes of nasal blockage can be addressed at the same time as a rhinoplasty.
