Question:
When your own tissue is used to augment your nose during rhinoplasty, is there a chance that this would be reabsorbed by the body over time and the augmentation would fade?
Answer:
Generally not. In my practice of over 15 years, I am personally aware of only 2 cases in thousands in which the patients own cartilage did resorb. Both of these were revision rhinoplasties. So, although there is a very small chance based on my experience, I would not expect any significant resorption over time.
