I’m African American and I feel like my nose is too wide and too big for my face. I do not want to look like a Barbie doll afterward. How do you improve my nose without it looking fake and unnatural, particularly in relation to my ethnicity?
The key is to have clear communication with the patient. When I see any patient in the office, after a discussion about their goals of surgery, I examine them and then perform computer imaging. With computer imaging, we agree on the surgical goal. Then, I can explain precisely what I will do to try to achieve this goal. My surgical philosophy is to make noses look natural on the face to which they belong – I think if you look at the before and after photos on my website, www.TheRhinoplastyCenter.com, you will see this philosophy reflected in my work.
