I live in Manhattan but I’m interested in traveling to Sewell to have you do my rhinoplasty. I know this isn’t long-distance travel, but it’s still travel. Is it okay to have this kind of a drive right after my nose job?
Yes it is. I operate on a number of patients each year from Manhattan, from Long Island, etc… They typically will drive into Sewell the afternoon before surgery, when we meet in the office and review the surgical plan a final time. They typically then stay in a hotel overnight and have surgery the next morning. Some of these patients will then ride home (someone else of course drives!) that afternoon. We certainly prefer that a patient stay overnight so I can see them the next day, but this is not typically mandatory.
