Question:
I have a pretty flat nose. I don’t like how it looks but I could live with it. What I can’t live with anymore is the trouble I have breathing all the time. Is the flatness responsible for this? Can this be fixed with a nose job?
Answer:
In thin skin, a slight irregularity under the skin can be noticeable, so great care is required that everything is as smooth as it can be. The advantage of thin skin is that significant refinement of the nose can be achieved. In thick skin, the opposite is true. A small irregularity under the skin may not be noticeable at all. But, in a thick skinned patient who requests significant refinement, there may be a limitation to what can be accomplished due to the thickness of the skin. You can look at and feel your skin and have a pretty good idea if it is thick or thin. If not, see a rhinoplasty specialist and he will tell you!
