Question:
I broke my nose several times as a kid and now as an adult I hate how crooked it is. Will my nose need to be re-broken in order to straighten it?
Answer:
Usually, part of the process of straightening a crooked nose does involve “re-breaking” it. However, it is nothing like what happened to you as a kid! First of all, you will be asleep! Also, rather that using a fist or a bat, we use a tiny bone knife, or osteotome. The width of the knife is 3mm – about 1/10th of one inch! This part of the surgery typically only takes a few minutes.
